I have been dedicated to creating quality visual memories and educational pieces since a young age. Picking up photography in my teens, I worked on the school newspaper and yearbook in high school. Outside of school, I worked for the Lawrence Journal and the Indianapolis Star, where I was a teen photographer and stringer for the Indianapolis 500.
-
At Indiana University, I followed the football team to the Rose Bowl, visually documenting the team’s success. But sports photography wasn’t my only passion; I also created a photo essay of a fellow high school alum as she traveled through her sorority rush journey.
-
After learning about food and fashion photography during my internship at the Charlotte Observer in North Carolina, I also worked at the H Lieber Company in Indianapolis, where I learned more about photo equipment as a buyer.
-
Those skills led me to the State of Indiana, where I learned law enforcement photography while improving the studio’s quality by upgrading to video technology. I also began teaching photography at this time.
-
The early 1980s saw me back in the college classroom, where I earned my Masters in Instructional Systems Technology. Here, I learned how to take my photography and visual arts skills and apply them to adult education.
-
After earning my degree, I started my own business, the Trainer’s Toolbox. I worked with Ivy Tech as an adjunct instructor, and clients such as Agilent Technologies, Allison, and Eli Lilly.
-
At Lilly, I helped Lilly move to new elearning platform before helping with training in the manufacturing department. I retired from Lilly and was employed by Xerox, Briljent, and IU Health.
-
I retired in 2018 to begin my photography business.
